Installation Associate

Summary:
The Installation Associate will be coached and mentored to perform basic network deployment installation activities. The Installation Associate will also acquire a clear understanding of Installation and Quality Standards set forth by CBMA and CBMA’s customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn core competencies in order to perform the following work procedures:
•Assemble, erect, mount, and align Common Central Office or Data Center hardware
•Run and secure cable. This shall include copper, fiber optic and coaxial cabling.
•Prepare cabling for termination to various pieces of telephony hardware
•Mount and label a wide variety of telecommunication units, terminal blocks, and interconnect panels.
•Perform basic power operations such as mounting relay rack fuse panels. This also includes the running of local fuseleads from fuse panels to various units within a relay rack bay.
•Meet Network Equipment Installation/Quality Standards as prescribed by CBMA and Customer requirements.
Qualifications:
•Entry Level position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Installation Associate is considered an entry-level position
•Should possess a good mechanical aptitude
•Should possess a good knowledge of basic power tools
•Should have the ability to adapt to various work environments
•Should have the ability to learn new skills required for advancement to Installer 1
Special Requirements:
•Due to the nature of our customers’ requirements, work schedules and hours of operation are dynamic. Installersmust be able to adjust to varying work schedules. Mandatory night shift and/or overtime may be required.
•Installers may be expected to travel periodically to work locations outside of the commutable area.
•Installers working with certain customers – 100% travel is required
•Travel may be required for both classroom and on-the-job training purposes.
•Valid DL with 3+ years of driving history
•Must be qualified to rent an unrestricted vehicle throughout the United States in accordance with individual statesrequirements

•The employee will be required to climb and work off ladders.

•The employee will be riding in a company vehicle to and from customer sites, sitting at a desk 10% of the time, walking between offices and other work areas from time to time, and working in tight spaces that includecomputer network infrastructure.
•The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) is generally required, as theemployee will be working at a computer, working with files & paperwork, working with tools, and working onspecialized computer & networking devices.
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, and feel computers and standard business equipment; and reach with handsand arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and climb andbalance in high, precarious places.
