Service Delivery Operations Logistics Specialist

Summary:
Responsible for providing customer support in relation to EF&I material issues, both internal and external. Will assist in the development and implementation of new procedures for MSOLv and Gestalt and will be the material liaison between the Purchasing, Engineering, Warehousing, and Installation departments.
Duties and Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
Primary Functions
- Become the subject matter expert in the daily inputting and monitoring of the Verizon logistics MSOLv and Gestalt systems on a “real-time” basis.
- Point of contact for all emails and phone calls in reference to assigned MSOLv and Gestalt material.
- Point of contact for lost and damaged material. Will interface with warehouse personnel, the accounting department, the vendor, and the customer for quick resolution.
- While performing all assigned functions, continuously assess operational processes to identify and minimize potential errors, and proactively implement improvements as necessary
- Assist in coordinating material deliveries and confirmation of receipt of material.
- Assist with the project management of large material rollouts.
- Regular interface with Business Development/Sales and Warehousing/Logistics in the resolution of escalated material problems.
- Learn and understand the hierarchy of customer contacts and procedures.
- Interface with customer representatives (customer logistics personnel, field engineers, vendor managers) on a professional basis – always remaining customer-focused.
- Interface with “internal customers” such as field engineers, installation supervisors, lead installers, and installation techs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
General Functions
- Ensuring that communication between departments is ongoing and utilized to maintain an environment of continuous improvement.
- Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the reorganization.
- Complete data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
Credentials and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is recommended in warehouse operations, material management, or equivalent.
- Requires organizational and communication skills.
- A high School diploma is necessary. Some college or technical school is a plus.
- Understanding of various software packages, including MS Word, spreadsheet/database programs such as MS Excel.
- Ability to quickly learn customer engineering databases and software.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities, and must be able to consistently work under and meet strict deadlines.
- Must possess good leadership, verbal, and written communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate with others.
- Ability to work in a changing environment.
- Ability to be sensitive to our customers’ needs and always remain customer-focused.
Special Requirements:
- Due to the nature of our Customers’ requirements, work schedules and hours of operation can be dynamic. The Service Delivery Operations Logistics Specialist may at times be asked to adjust to varying work schedules, which may include overtime.
- The Service Delivery Operations Logistics Specialist will be cross-trained in other Service Delivery Operations Department functions and, at times, be required to perform other tasks and duties outside of those listed above.
Physical Demands:

- The employee will be required to use his/her hands 90% of the time to type, write, and handle paperwork.
- The employee must be able to distinguish between different colors.
- The employee will be riding in a company vehicle to and from customer sites, sitting at a desk 95% of the time with walking between offices and other work areas from time to time, and working in tight spaces that include computer network infrastructure.
- The employee may, from time to time, be required to lift weights (i.e., paper boxes and installation materials) up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) is generally required, as the employee will be working at a computer, working with files & paperwork, and working on specialized computer & networking devices.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, and feel computers and standard business equipment; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and climb and balance in high, precarious places.
Work Environment:
- The work environment will consist of a business office setting. That means a clean, air-conditioned environment, including moderate noise levels (i.e., computers and printers, phones and light traffic).
- At times, the Service Delivery Operations Logistics Specialist will be required to walk into a warehouse setting and interact with the warehouse staff.
