Summary:
Data Center Installer to join our dedicated team supporting our client’s critical DCIM operations across multiple data centers in a 55-mile radius of Branchburg, NJ. This is a full-time night shift position requiring flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.


Key Responsibilities:
• Equipment Installation and Decommissioning: Perform precise installation and decommissioning of various data center equipment, including servers, storage devices, and networking components.
• Hardware Maintenance: Execute hardware maintenance tasks such as card swaps, upgrades, and replacements.
• Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs): Efficiently manage MAC requests, including physical and logical changes to network and server infrastructure.
• Port Assignment: Accurately assign ports to devices and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Power and Cabling: Work with power distribution units (PDUs), fiber optic cables, copper cabling, and patch panels to ensure optimal network performance.
• Cable Labeling: Create and apply accurate labels to cables and equipment.
• Cable Installation: Install various types of cables, including fiber optic and copper, adhering to industry standards and color codes.
• RJ45 Termination: Terminate RJ45 connectors on cables to ensure reliable network connections.
• Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all work performed.
• Adherence to Standards: Strictly adhere to data center standards, procedures, and security protocols.
• Travel: Ability to periodically travel throughout NJ to multiple sites.
• Nights: 100% night work.


Qualifications:
• Proven experience in data center operations and hardware maintenance.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and network management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.


Shift: Sunday - Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) is generally required, as the employee will be working at a computer, working with files & paperwork, working with tools and working on specialized computer & networking devices.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle and feel computers and standard business equipment; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; and climb and balance in high precarious places.
